Christopher B. Seaman

Professor Seaman teaches legal writing and intellectual property litigation at Chicago-Kent. He joined the faculty from the law firm of Sidley Austin LLP, where he was an associate in the firm's intellectual property litigation practice group from 2005 to 2009. At Sidley, his practice focused on patent, copyright, and trade secret litigation. In addition to intellectual property law, Professor Seaman's academic interests include election law and constitutional law.
Professor Seaman earned his J.D. degree in 2004 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. While there, he served as executive editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review and received the Edwin R. Keedy Award for the most scholarly contribution to the law review. He clerked for the Honorable R. Barclay Surrick of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from 2004 to 2005. From 2007 to 2009, Professor Seaman taught legal writing as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Professor Seaman graduated from Swarthmore College in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in public policy.
