Program in Intellectual Property Law

2003-2004 IP News Archive

Two IP students, Chris Kaiser and Chris Haggerty, represented Chicago-Kent at the Midwest Regional competition of the Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court on Saturday, February 21, 2004. We are happy to announce that our team won the Best Brief for the Midwest region and Second Place overall in the competition. The team's brief also won Second Place in the National competition. Scott Kolassa and Kara Szpondowski, the Giles Rich Patent Moot Court Team, represented Chicago-Kent this past weekend in the regional competition. Our team placed Second overall in the competition and will compete in the National Competition before the Federal Circuit in April. (02/2004)

Michael P. Matesky won First Prize in the 2004 Nathan Burke Memorial Competition for his paper entitled, "The Digital Millennium Copyright Act and Non-Infringing Use: Can Mandatory Labeling of Digitial Media Products Keep the Sky from Falling?" (02/2004)
