Apply for the ABA Division of Public Services Clerkship

Are you looking for a rewarding public interest experience? If so, the ABA Division for Public Services wants you! We seek a law clerk with exceptional research and writing skills to conduct an individualized public interest legal research and writing project in Washington, DC. In concert with one of our Public Services Division attorneys and a law school faculty reviewer, you will develop a substantive legal monograph that may be published, if of a quality acceptable by the ABA. Illinois Legal Aid Online Student Associate Position(s)

Illinois Legal Aid Online, is a non-profit organization, begun by a statewide collaboration of legal aid organizations, whose mission is to provide low-income individuals and the attorneys who serve them with greater access to legal information through the use of technology.

We have need for at least one student associate who is fluent in Spanish. The positions will begin with the Fall 2007 semester, and will require a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility around exams and holidays. Deadline: November 23, 2007
Requirements: February or July 2008 examinee, ABA Member, no commitment for full-time employment in excess of $30,000.

Volunteer Opportunities

Self-Help Web Center (SHWC)

SHWC is currently seeking volunteer web facilitators for the Self-Help Web Desk at the Daley Center. Volunteers at the web desk gain real-world experience by helping self-represented and under-represented litigants access legal information through the internet. Public Interest Certificate Program

  • Chicago-Kent's new Public Interest Certificate Program is currently accepting letters of intent for the certificate program. The Certificate requires 12 credit hours for completion, including Public Interest Law and Policy and the public interest section of Legal Writing IV. Letter of intent forms are available here

  • Interested students should enroll in the fall 2007 section of Public Interest Law & Policy. This course is only offered in the fall and is required for the Certificate.
